Though the study centers work primarily with children grades 3-12, they are also a resource for Adult Education students and community members. Participation in the centers is voluntary. The after-school program operates Monday through Thursday typically from 3:00-7:00PM following the Portland public school calendar. The centers tend to open a couple of weeks after school starts and stay open until the end of the school year. The centers are also used for summer recreation programs and as a year-round meeting site for many community groups.
